Rex D Kelley

Rex D. Kelley, age 77, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at his home after a long illness. He was born April 16, 1939, in Upshur County, a son of the late William J. and Flora Rowan Kelley. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ginger Himes; three brothers: Verlon, Ernie and infant Donnie Kelley; two sisters: Estalene Tenney and Virginia Talbott. He was united in marriage on March 24, 1969, to Carol Reed Sheets Kelley, who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Mike Kelley and wife Melanie of Buckhannon; one special stepson Nick Sheets and wife Kim of Sevierville, TN; one son-in-law Marty Himes of Buckhannon; one sister Hellen Lee and husband Kenneth of Buckhannon; one grandson Michael Kelley and wife Carissa of Tallmansville; one granddaughter Jennifer and husband Billy Hatfield of Buckhannon; two step granddaughters: Elizabeth Sheets of Buckhannon and Leslie and husband Beau Holley of Buckhannon; three step grandsons: Jeff Jones, Joshua White and Branden and wife Melissa White of Sevierville, TN; two great grandchildren: Helena Hatfield and Kimber Kelley; three step great grandchildren: Paisley and Kade Holley and Emma White. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and special friends: Bob and Sheila Sayres and Danny and Carolyn Ware. Mr. Kelley was retired from Moore Business Forms. He enjoyed square dancing. He was a charter member of the Washington District Fire Department and a member of the Full Gospel Church in Buckhannon. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Peoples Hospice of United Hospital Center and nurses; Virginia Cutlip and Marilyn McCauley and CNA Erin Collins, also to Pastor Chad Lewis and wife Bridgett and the Full Gospel Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the funeral chapel with Pastor Chad Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park.
